Isa is a Peruvian-American journalist and writer based in New York City. 

She is a staff reporter for Hyperallergiccovering arts and culture for both general and art world audiences. Her current work focuses on political changes at federally funded arts entities, including the Smithsonian Institution and the National Endowment for the Arts. 

Her reporting extends beyond the art world, documenting immigration issues, campus protests, alleged First Amendment censorship, labor conditions, the 2023 Maui wildfires, and more. 

She has authored reports for Al Jazeera English, The Intercept, NBC News, NBC Latino, Columbia Daily Spectator, Hawaii News Now, POLITICO, and Hyperallergic. She is a member of the NAHJ, participated in the Dow Jones News Fund, and was selected to join the competitive 2024 POLITICO Journalism Institute. 

In 2024, she graduated from Barnard College, where her reporting earned a Mark of Excellence Award from the Society of Professional Journalists.
